THE FIRST BEEKEEPING INCUBATOR IN POLAND

Established and made available by the Lublin County – the Beekeeping Incubator is the first place in the Lublin region where beekeepers, using a well-equipped technological line, can process honey of their own production. The facility is located in Pszczela Wola (Bee Will, Poland), on the premises of the Apiculture Technical College, which is a center of education and beekeeping practice well-known in Poland and Europe. The incubator was created thanks to financial support under the EU Rural Development Program for 2014-2020.

FOR FARMERS AND BEEKEEPERS

It is a modern education and service center that creates and implements innovative scientific and technical solutions in the field of beekeeping. The Beekeeping Incubator enables farmers and beekeepers to make and sell their own honey-based products without having to invest in their own infrastructure.

APPROPRIATE EQUIPMENT FOR HONEY PROCESSING

This is an excellent solution for the needs of beginner beekeepers, for whom one of the main obstacles is the investment in the appropriate equipment, necessary in honey processing. Thanks to the high level of hygiene guaranteed, the product manufactured in the incubator complies with all health and safety requirements and thus is ready for sale.

About the Incubator

Incubator’s customers are able to use the modern infrastructure and equipment of the Incubator, for a fixed, non-profit price based on the cost of utilities. Users will process food on their own, using the Incubator’s space and equipment. Before start, they will be trained in the use of the shared devices by our professional supervising the proper functioning of the facility. The incubator has all the necessary approvals and permits from relevant authorities, which ensure that the final product is safe in terms of sanitation and hygiene.

The incubator is also a place where you can take advantage of consultancy in the field of honey processing technology and beekeeping. Moreover, it will be an area of meetings and exchange of experience between beekeepers and manufacturers. The incubator’s offer is addressed to professionals and amateurs in the area of bee products from all over the globe. Since the beginning, the Beekeeping Incubator in Bee Will, Poland has met with great interest among honey manufacturers both at home and abroad. Thanks to this, it influences the creation of the future of beekeeping and is one of the elements building the influential brand of the Lublin County and the Lublin Province.

Providing a technological line

HONEY PROCESSING

As a part of our service we offer the following honey processing activities:

  • Uncapping

removing a thin layer of wax off your honey frames as a first step to the honey extraction

  • Honey extraction

when the honeycombs in the hive are full of honey it’s time to spin the honey out. Honey frames are placed in the centrifugal honey extractor and then set in motion.

  • Creaming

the process of removing lumps thus giving the honey smooth and homogenous texture

  • Decrystallization

the process of honey decrystallization consists of the transformation of solid state honey into liquid state under the influence of heating.

  • Packaging

honey packaging is a multi-stage process. Firstly, it requires putting honey into large containers, secondly decrystallizing honey and finally filling it into smaller retail containers

Providing space and resources for education

FOR THIRD PARTY

Supplied with the most modern equipment and technology, the educational and training department is available to organize training, lectures, shows, honey sampling sessions, etc. to any interested third party including: manufacturers, farmers, wholesalers, non-governmental organizations and informal groups.

The training room is fitted with the „education lane”, i.e. a fully glazed corridor running along the production rooms, enabling live observation of the processes carried out in the incubator. The training part, together with the „educational lane” is also of a unique pedagogic value for schools and kindergartens.

Providing an Incubator for educational purposes

FOR TEACHING INSTITUTIONS IN THE FIELD OF BEEKEEPING

The facility is intended for vocational training and examination processes carried out by the Apiculture Technical School in Pszczela Wola. It can be shared with other beekeeping educators and examiners.

Providing space for the cooking purposes

FOR WORKSHOPS AND SHOWS

This autonomous part of the Beekeeping Incubator is an ideal place to conduct workshops by local organizations lacking kitchen facilities. Providing opportunity for beekeeping tourism

GROUPS AND INDIVIDUAL TOURISTS

The space devoted to visitors allows them to learn about the tradition and modernity of beekeeping as a rich and diverse field of economic activity. It introduces the processes of production and use of products made by processing honey.

Providing space for research

SCIENTIFIC, DEVELOPMENTAL AND EXPERIMENTAL

The incubator is a place dedicated to practitioners and theoreticians dealing with apiary management and the development of broadly understood beekeeping. It is the lens of cooperation between scientific and research communities with producers and recipients of beekeeping products. It is a space for the exchange of knowledge, thought, products and technology.

Publishing and conference activities
